Ebner will gladly give more items about the Indian Mission. Two full-blooded Indians baptized several years ago were married by Rt. Rev. Abbot Martin Marty, O.S.B. The couple received their first Communion during the same High Mass. Both the Indians and the whites flocked to the ceremony as it was the first time that an Indian marriage was solemnized according to the rites of the church. The Agent, Major James McLaughlin and his wife were also present. Abbot Marty explained publicly the ceremony of Matrimony both in the English and Sioux tongue, and hoped that in the future all Indian marriages will be performed in a Christian manner. There is another scheduled in a week. The happiness of all soon ended when Fr.
