He thanks Hudson for the 1876 volume of the Ave Maria. Because of his weak eyes he has been doing very little reading lately. He thought Father Edward F Sorin, C.S.C. was going to make a pilgrimage to Rome. This would have been almost the only inducement for Purcell to go. :: X-2-d A.L.S. 2pp. 12mo.
