Document, Letters. University of Toebingen in Germany ~ Correspondence between Gordon and Norbert; an essay is attached. ~ 3/30 and 5/12 -- Letters are written to Gordon from Norbert in German. Documents are attached describing the theme and editorial ideas for the 1983 International Review of Theology, entitled "Concilium." 6/5 -- Gordon apologizes for his delay of response and says that he is willing to do an article on the "absolute pacifist position" although he is not sure if he is the best person for it. 6/15 -- Norbert sends Gordon another letter in German. 7/7 -- Gordon receives a letter with more information and a deadline for the article for "Concilium." 8/13 -- Gordon writes saying that he is enclosing the manuscript. In his essay, Gordon recounts the early pacifist days of Christianity and the historical changes that took place whereby the Church became more militant. He links this to the development of modern war and says that war can no longer be reconciled in the Church because there can be no just war in modern times.
