By "Crime Wave" Gordon is referring to the crime of refusing to register for the draft. He says that there are an estimated half-million who have committed this 'crime' and the Selective Service system has expanded to draft more effectively and to find these draft dodgers. Gordon warns against military domination and encourages the Church to stand behind its members in their decisions. He also asserts that the law and the penalty concerning conscription should be re-evaluated.
