He says that although the bishops have condemned the use and threat of use of nuclear weapons, they have not addressed the issue of the production and possession of nuclear weapons which Gordon claims is active and continuing preparation for nuclear war. Keenan, 7/22--Marjorie recounts Pope John Paul II's work for peace and his statements, one being that human dignity is undermined whenever we do not do everything possible to preserve peace. He also states that it is urgent that the world equip itself with effective means of negotiation, and work for justice in order to achieve peace. Szura, 8/19--John addresses the concern of some Catholics that the condemnation of nuclear weapons on the basis of Christian love is not realistic.
