Document. 5-page essay written by Gordon with a note to Tom Fox, editor of the National Catholic Reporter attached asking him to publish the essay in the "Forum" section of the paper. ~ Gordon remarks that although there is a shortage of police to patrol high crime areas, there is never a shortage when it comes to a protest or blockade of nuclear supplies. He refers to the criminal penalty for trespass committed by an anti-war pamphleteer and says that no distinction is make between this person and one who trespasses to commit burglary. He says that with the danger of nuclear war approaching, it cannot be afforded that those who are doing active protest be conveniently locked away. Gordon contends that the stifling of their message is undemocratic.
