General

Document. 15-page transcript of Gordon's speech given at the Day of Peace celebration in Newark, NJ. A schedule of events for the day is attached. ~ Gordon points out the severe lack of commitment on the part of government to peace and quotes statements given by the Vatican in their pleas for peace. He says that this is the 11th annual Day of Peace and yet the arms race goes unabated. Gordon charges that the church must do more in their quest for peace and points out inherent failings in the papal style of communication. He inquires as to why the church has not mounted the same attack on the arms race as it has on abortion, saying that they are both issues of life and death. ~ presented 1/14
