General
Letter. Gordon writes a long and pointed letter in his defense against charges that he and his department is racist or anti affirmative action in hiring. These were made in the case where a minority candidate, Russell Lee, was not hired for a position. Gordon says the reason he was not hired is because he was not as well qualified as other candidates. He points out his involvement with various cultural organizations and his commitment to multicultural positions. He protest the way the matter was handled and how information from a personal letter that he wrote was used out of context.
