General

Letters. Correspondence concerning CPF's stance on abortion, the considerations, and a proposed statement by CPF on abortion. ~ 12/20/73--Bishop Dozier writes Tom in response to his letter concerning abortion. He basically says that he doesn't think you can be for peace and for abortion. 1/10/73--Tom writes Eileen Egan about the aboriton issue. He comments at length about the conception of abortion in the law, in the medical profession and in society. He makes an analogy between the Catholic disarmament campaign and its abortion campaign, and comments on Bishop Dozier's letter. FOR needs to establish a position on abortion and come out with a statement, however difficult it will be to come to agreement. 3/15--Tom writes to Al Hassler of FOR to thank him for his criticisms of the CPF proposed paper on abortion and says the tone of the statement is under reconsideration. 3/19--Tom writes Gordon about the abortion statement reiterating the general consensus that a line refering to reasons for why people get abotions is too harsh.
