Document. 4 page article in section called "Sounding Board" ~ Gordon discusses the issue of racial tensions in the aftermath of the ghetto riots. He points out newly discovered pride in black identity and launches into a discussion of the activities in Milwaukee of Fr. Groppi and his leadership in the Negro community. He reiterates the view that Fr. Groppi is a fanatic; however he defends Groppi and says that there is a need for his involvement. He also criticizes some of Groppi's methods, his failure to speak out against violent action (and his tendency to incite it), and his use of racist language. He says that Groppi is not the problem; rather it is the pattern of segregation and lack of commitment from community leadership. ~ "Sounding Board"
