General
Correspondence. Gordon writes to the editor to clear up two points that he felt were made incorrectly in Bruce Cook's profile of him. Other than these two points however, he was pleased with the article and thanks the editor for bringing his (Gordon's) opinions to their readers. He says that any misinterpretation of what he said in the interview was surely his lack of clarity, not Mr. Cook's fault. One point he wants to make quite straight is that he believes that the Vietnam war is an unjust war and that the U. S. should disengage itself from such a hypocritical situation. He also wanted to clarify that he was not the very first conscientious objector, that there had been some back in the days of of the "first centuries of church history when they tried to put the power of non-violence to the test in overcoming a pagan empire bent on their destruction!" Gordon hopes that his clarifications can be printed in the U. S. CATHOLIC.
