Document. Article in which Gordon Zahn charges that some American Bishops may be trying to block condemnation of the use of atomic weapons by the Ecumenical Council. The target of the U. S. Bishops' attack, says Zahn , is Schema 13 which would align the Catholic Church against the use of nuclear weapons. The Schema was supported by Cardinal Alfrink (The Netherlands) and a number of French Bishops. Zahn attacks Bishop Hannan and the "innocent looking loophole" argued for in the "confidential" petition submitted to the council by a group of Roman Catholic experts.
