Document. 6 page article in THE CATHOLIC WORLD ~ Zahn refers to incidents and scandals that have taken place that reveal politicians have a severe lack of moral fiber. He goes on to say that a good test of their morality is to see how many campaign promises they live up to. He charges that in the case of civil rights, Congress is sadly lacking and goes on to discuss this at some length. He says that a man who gains election on a platform he does not intend to support has gained his office under false pretenses and is shirking his responsibility. Gordon points out the functions of legislators and how the current Congress is failing in those functions. ~ The Catholic World ~ August ~ 346-351
