He had hoped to ask his most particular man friend to be his best man, but Lillie has a brother that she simply idolizes and he will pay her the compliment by asking him to be the best man. It was negligence that stopped their correspondence so long. He understands from Frank that Edwards' trip abroad has been postponed till May 1. He is sorry that he cannot see Edwards before that time. Their operation has done splendid work, 30 million feet of logs in the river already and expect to put in 7 million more. He spent some pleasant days in Chicago with Kathleen. He did not see Freddie Jewett in Chicago. Jewett is working for the Marshall Field wholesale department. Nester wishes Edwards were with him to enjoy some of the lengthy sleigh rides. This is the busiest log hauling month of the year. Scope and Contents The Ocean is between them, yer Nester is sure he is not forgotten. The hardest week of the lumberman is the drive. The logs put into the river during the winter are flooded away. The logs will jam the river in about 15 miles. Wages are so high and if the men are not watched they will shirk in order to get in as much time as possible. The rumor was that Edwards and Miss Laura G. Fendrick, George Rhodius and Matty Johns, were to make their wedding tour through Europe together. :: XI-1-g A.L.S....
