Edwards got her in a fine scrape by giving them hope of expecting him that Friday afternoon. However she had a lovely visit with Drusie Henoch, and also with Milton Henoch. Edwards should tell her all about Drusie Mrs. Milton Henoch. Arthur Nester has been appointed postmaster. Nellie Davis, a graduate of St. Mary's became a Catholic. She writes to tell Edwards how much she appreciated his letter. Her uncle is there and very sick. Miss Jannie Derry's mother died yesterday. She wants Edwards to arrange to come this summer. They left Chicago on the city of Duluth, but could not enter Munising harbor on account of the fog, so they carried by to Marquette. She has delayed answering her letters until she is far beyond the excusing point. She was much surprised when she heard that Edwards did not go to Europe. George Rhodius is fortunate to have such a true friend as Edwards. She often thinks of the great old times she had with Drusie. Scope and Contents He congratulates Jewett on the splendid showing he made in the athletic contests at Ann Arbor. He understands that in the 100 yard rece they gave Owen the best of the start. Owen is the champion amateur sprinter of America. Nester trusts that Jewett will come to Detroit, June 14. Jewett should win the high and broad jump. James F. Edwards seemed to think favorably of Jewett's coming, so did Father Thomas E. Walsh, C.S.C. when he heard that all of the nice young men in town belong to the D....

He was very sorry to learn that Edwards had lost his Mother and had been quite ill; he hopes he has recovered. He would like to have gone to Notre Dame with John F. Nester and the boys, Tom and Lilly Marshall. Marie and the family are coming there to live.
