McGinniss, J. J., Brooklyn, New York, to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1890 February 8
He thought he was quite forgotten as a Catholic journalist until Edwards' letter came along. McGinniss is doing much better than when in a mere religious atmosphere. He left the Catholic News two weeks before John Gilmary Shea's advent. McGinnis would not go to see Mr. Herman Ridder. What ill luck hangs on Catholic journals, anyway? McGinnis is out for good. He supposes Edwards has not as yet had time to arrange the treasures he brought from Europe. :: XI-1-h A.L.S. 4pp. 12mo.

McGolrick, James, Bishop of: Duluth, Minnesota, to William J. Onahan, Chicago, Illinois, 1892 October 11
The Bishop promised to meet Archbishop Ireland in Chicago on the 19th, and so asks Onahan to secure a room for him. Very many are opening their eyes only now to the fact that the celebration is very Catholic, and some of the ministers up in Minnesota begin to talk of Medievalism and Spanish Ignorance etc. He speaks of Mollie Onahan's reading.
McGolrick, James, Bishop of: Duluth, Minn(esota) to (William J.) Onahan: (Chicago, Illinois), 1893 July 2
The Bishop shall do his best on "The Indian Question". He could use any information, especially that of the Indian Bureau. The A(merican) P(rotective) A(ssociation) is raging, especially because of the fall of a priest there. Bad Catholics and bad priests are a thousand times worse than any secret associations. An active Catholic Press Union would be of more value than the building of many churches. He praises Mollie (Onahan).
McGolrick, James Bishop of: Duluth, Minn(esota) to (William J.) Onahan: (Chicago, Illinois), 1893 August 21
If he hears of any opening for a teacher, he will let Onahan know so the latter may acquaint Fr. Ryan. In the public schools the A(merican) P(rotective) A(ssociation) have crossed off all Catholics. Regards to Mrs. and Miss Onahan. The Bishop gave a retreat last week and this week shall commence another.
