Scope and Contents He is sorry to hear that he has been sick. The Road he spoke of being at work on was finished in twelve days; there was not much money in it for him. He is proud to see his son's name on the Roll of Honor. He is anxious for him to be a good draftsman. He has a couple of Indian relics which he will send to the Historical Department of Notre Dame. They are vessels made of reeds closely woven for carrying water. This section of the country was occupied many years ago by the Navajoes. Note:...

He inquires if Edwards has one of his Milan bonds. A note is added in Edwards' hand. Bishop Joseph Dwenger of Fort Wayne has enriched the Memorial Hall with a beretta rosa worn by Pope Gregory XVI when Cardinal Cappellari. The relic was given by the Pope to Father Francis de Sales Brunner, founder of Precious Blood Fathers in United States. Yesterday Dwenger laid the cornerstone of St. Patrick's church in South Bend.

It being his ninth anniversary of wedded bliss and as he and his wife were sitting by the fireside looking over the albums of old friends they came across Edwards' picture.
