Baraga hopes that Lefevere received his letter of Aug. 3 in which he requested him to cash a check of 8399 francs. He asks Lefevere to pay from that sum to Messrs. Eagle and Elliott for his coat and pants only if they do not charge him immoderately any more than others. He also asks Lefevere to give the enclosed letter to Father Timothy Darie' on his arrival in Detroit.
