Abstract

A medal presented to Harold Calvin Marston Morse by General Philippe Petain for service as an ambulance driver during World War One. The medal is housed in a more recent 4.5" x 5.75" x 1" shadow box which bears the date 12 November 1918. Marston Morse's mathematics books and journals were donated to Notre Dame in 1979 and are currently located in the O'Meara Mathematics Library. The medal was given to the Library by his widow in 2012.
