Scope and Contents One clipping from an unidentified newspaper reporting that due to the advance of the Red Army, prisoners could not be sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz and Maidanek. As a result, Kaltenbrunner had sought to establish gas chambers in areas not yet occupied by Allied forces. Theresienstadt was chosen as such a location.
