Case no. 1320, regarding the estate of Joseph Spengler (b. 1812, in Englethal, France; d. 17 October 1852). Spengler immigrated to the United States in 1838, where he worked as a brickmaker. In the 1850 Federal census his real estate is valued at $10,000; he owned eight slaves.
