Controversy in "The Pilot", 1903-1904
Photocopies of a series of articles and letters to "The Pilot" from October 1903 to February 1904 set off by an article entitled, "M. Loisy's New Book" (Oct. 24, 1903). A note sheet included with the packet includes a list of possible identities for the pseudonyms used and a note that reads, "None of these 1903 reviews or letters is (necessarily) by GT. But this packet traces a whole long controversy in The Pilot, and includes 2 articles/letters by T."

3 photocopies of the published letter George Tyrrell wrote to Cardinal Ferrata after Tyrrell left the Jesuits regarding the irregularity of his situation as a priest. An original of the printed letter is also included with marginalia in the hand of "Mrs. Clutton" (Kitty Clutton?) and "Strictly Confidential" in Tyrrell's hand at the top.
