Biographical / Historical

Fox hunting with trained packs of dogs has a long history in England. The dogs tracing the scent were traditionally followed by riders on horseback. The formal York and Ainsty Hunt dates to the early 1800s and was a well-documented foxhunt during the nineetenth century. The York and Ainsty hounds were well-regarded for their tracking ability.
