Content Description
A group of five mimeographed radio scripts for the Bernie Bierman Program broadcast on WCCO, Minneapolis during the 1941 Minnesota football season. Each script runs from 16 to 19 pages and includes Minneapolis Star Journal Sports Editor Charles O. "Charlie" Johnson interviewing Bierman about the previous week's game. Each script also includes a preview of the next game on the schedule usually with reporting by one of Minnesota's football scouts. The Bernie Bierman program was sponsored by Wheaties, and each show includes advertisements for Wheaties cereal read by other radio announcers.

Biographical / Historical
Bernard W. "Bernie" Bierman (1894–1977) was a college football coach. Bierman coached at several schools, but he is best known as the head coach of the Unversity of Minnesota footballl team from 1932-1950. During the 1930s, Minnesoa won five national championships—including in 1941—and seven Big Ten championships.
During his years coaching Minnesota, Bierman hosted the "Bernie Bierman Show" on WCCO, a leading AM radio station in Minneapolis that was part of the CBS radio network during the 1930s. The radio show discussed Minnnesota's football exploits and other events in the college football world.
