The letter of the 25th concerns William Allingham's effort to send for seed potatoes and oats from Norway: "I enclose you a letter for Thonning which please to have Post Paid at the Genl. Post Office. He ... get it charge me with the cost - don't let it be delayed Post, as it is about seed Potatoes oats - which I hope may be sent us from Norway... " and later, "I hope the Govt. will do something to get good seed oats wheat if possible seed potatoes, if not next year will be still worse than the present.."
