A thin notebook of 16 pages was inserted between pages 188 and 189. This notebook or tetrad itself contains several inserted notes and drawings. Also on page 188 the last journal entry is for Tuesday, May 27, 1975. The notebook as well as pages 189 through 218 (in folder 175) diverge from the usual journal entries. Pages 189 to 218 are comprised of notes on reading, a draft of a letter to Joseph Brodsky, and miscellaneous matters. The next "regular" entry for May 28, 1975 appears on page 221.
