Background

An association of Roman Catholic contemplative women belonging to various religious institutes who work together to improve their understanding of appropriate adaptation of contemplative life and tradition to their present time and place. Founded in 1969 and incorporated in 1970, ACS conducts educational programs for contemplatives, publishes a journal and a newsletter, and through meetings of delegates elected by the members promotes increased understanding of contemplative religious life in modern times.
