Scope and Contents
Correspondence, membership lists, memoranda from the national AAUP office, and reports. Correspondents include chapter officers, Notre Dame administrators, AAUP members from other universities, and staff members of the national AAUP office. Subjects covered in the correspondence include meeting arrangements, reports and surveys prepared by the local chapter and national office, faculty salary and benefits at Notre Dame, and the chapter's administrative activities. Series also includes minutes for chapter meetings, 1946-1951. (6 inches)

Conditions Governing Access
Box 11 is restricted. Additionally, four folders in the series "CAUP 5-8: Subject Files, 1956-1961, 1971-1973," relating to disciplinary actions and other confidential matters, have been restricted. These folders have been removed from the subject files and put in Box 11 with other restricted files. Access to restricted files will be granted only with permission of the current AAUP President.
