Nicolas, Joseph, Interior Parish of La Fourche, Louisiana, 1846 January 28
Scope and Contents
Copy. Since by the Council of Baltimore no chapel or church is to be built or served except under the administration of the Bishop of the diocese, the trustees submit to the full and entire administration of Blanc, - and his successors, a vote put in by Ménard, - in all not contrary to the rights of the trustees concerning the goods belonging to the congregation and that this administration does not go beyond the expiration of their charter. It is to be understood also that in case the Bishop builds on the land belonging to the congregation all buildings must conform with the civil law. The Secretary-Treasurer is to send a copy of the above to Blanc and to Ménard. P. Aubert certifies the copy. D.S. Copy French On the same paper
