Scope and Contents

Blake, President of the K. of C. Home Company of Canton, recently acquired property, the title of which must be cleared. In 1829, Bishop Edward Fenwick was deeded the property. An enclosed will shows Fenwick to have conveyed property to the incorporated Literary Society of St. Joseph. There is on record in Stark County no conveyance or any transfer of the property described in the will. Searches in the Archives of the Diocese of Cincinnati and of the Mother House, Delhi, Ohio, for the record of transfer proved in vain. Archbishop (Henry) Moeller of Cincinnati suggested that Blake write to Notre Dame, requesting a search for the record among the papers of Fenwick held by the University. - T.L.S. - Enclosure.
