Barnabo tells Purcell that since the Sacred Congregation is anxious to take care of the widowed see of Covington and since the bishops of Detroit, Louisville, Vincennes and Marquette have not shown themselves disposed to give recommendations on the proposed candidates for the see, Purcell is urged to write to these bishops and tell them to write without delay to the Sacred Congregation, giving their opinions on the proposed candidates. :: II-5-d A.L.S.
