Mr. O'Hanlon called to know whether a letter had reached Rome for Purcell from All-Hallows containing his testimonials which are necessary for his examination. Chatard opened the letter presuming on Purcell's permission, but it contained no testimonials. He did not give O'Hanlon a decided answer as he would have suspected the contents of the letter.
