Odin was introduced to Charles Elder, the brother of Bishop Elder of Natchez, by Thomas F. Tobin on board the steamer Suna. Mr. Tobin is from Memphis. He was born in Ireland and would like to be appointed consul for the United States in Dublin. He thinks a recommendation from Purcell would aid in his appointment.
