He arrived yesterday and found the cathedral advancing, and can forgive other things. Mr. George Steiner, one of his seminarians at Cincinnati asks to be ordained subdeacon as soon as possible. Luers asks Purcell to give him minor orders and subdeaconate. He has been called to the colors in Bavaria and if he does not receive holy orders a surety of $320 will be forfeited, which would be very hard on his poor parents.
