Edwards' note reached him. He concludes that Edwards' health is all right. Father Peter Paul Cooney want to his reward last week. Father Louis Letorneau, C.S.C. underwent another facial operation and is getting along well, as is Brother Alexander, C.S.C. who was operated on. Last week he received a papal brief from the Bishop Herman J. Alerding of Fort Wayne, giving great praise to the Sisters of the Holy Cross and granting them the apostolical benediction and two plenary indulgences. Father Andrew Morrissey, C.S.C. went last Sunday to the ceremony of the pallium in St. Louis. When he returned Archbishop Alexander Christie was at Notre Dame. Morrissey goes to Boston to confer the Laetare Medal and will attend the consecration of the Coadjutor of Rochester, Very Rev. Thomas F. Hickey, on his way back. Fitte is in charge of St. Bavo's congregation in Mishawaka. The civil society is going to sell the College of St. Croix to the municipality of Neuilly, Father Augustus Goupille told him; the last hope is gone for the Congregation of Holy Cross ever to recover it.
