Edwards' kind letter was received informing him of the award of the Gold Cross by the Directors of Bishops' Memorial Hall, of Notre Dame, for writing "The Lives of the Deceased Bishops of the Catholic Church in the United States". He is grateful for the honor and is sure he has done nothing to deserve it. The Archbishop is not now at home. Clarke will let Edwards know when something is done about the presentation.
