Brent, Emily C., Washington, D. C., to James F. Edwards, Notre Dame, Indiana, 1887 August 27
Scope and Contents
She is glad that Edwards is again safe at home after his long journey, but as he speaks of visiting other cities she begins to feel anxious about him. She appreciates Edwards' scolding her for want of fortitude in her earthly trials. She is about to take a nice little house not far from St. Peter's Church. She may not resume her duties at the office for a long time yet. She wishes so much to enjoy domestic pleasures. She is glad that Edwards enjoyed his visit to Baltimore and the company of the Cardingal. She thinks Major Mallet is disappointed at her not having retained more of the old papers of the Archbishop. She told him what good arguments Edwards could make in favor of Memorial Hall. :: XI-1-e A.L.S. 12pp. 12mo.
