Letter. Describes a winter journey of hardships to Mackinac on snowshoes. He then tells about his first mission journey of the year, to Little Detroit, across Lake Michigan, and establishes there a new mission. He then visited the mission near present Manistique. From there he went to Beaver Island where he met with some opposition from pagan Indians. On returning to his home mission, Arbre Croche, he found a large number of Indians ready for baptism. He ends with giving thanks for support received from the members of the Leopoldine Foundation. GXE. DALY.
