Immediate concern of the Center relates to the issue of current advance planning for the prospective alternative service program to which conscientious objectors would be assigned in the event of a return to active service under the Selective Service System. Recommend that the Selective Service permit people who register to state their conscientious objections at the time of registration. Goes on to make a number of criticisms and suggestions for the Selective Service System.
