Essay. To suggest that political and military leaders give serious thought to "just war" teachings in modern war is an illusion. Instead of the illusion of "just war" that the Church seems to perpetuate we need to return to the higher ethics of the teachings and example of Christ and the early Christians -- those who were before the idea of "just war" existed.
