Correspondence. Gordon has a few suggestions that Brian can (if he desires) incorporate into his first version of the Epilogue. His first suggestion is to stress the importance of the broader issue in the contemporary context. "It is right and necessary that the American hierarchy assume its proper share of the responsibility for providing such moral guidance." His second is to respond to their challenge as to how they are to defend themselves and the state against Communism. His third is to discuss the unwillingness to uphold the rights of the individual conscience against the imposed judgments of the state.
