General

Document. "Granted, there is a touch of the absurd in speaking of the present as the 'aftermath' of the war in Vietnam." Gordon suggests that we make certain that all the loose ends are tied and its lessons are made explicit before the books are closed and the whole tragic affair filed away in the archives. Issues remain to be solved. Amnesty is one, yet there are many which are in danger of being overlooked or ignored and foremost among these in terms of importance and urgency is an honest and thorough moral assesment of the war according to the traditional standards and conditions set forth in the classic theological formulations of the so-called "just" war.
