Paper. Zahn's paper for the ASA Meeting, in the Sociology of Religion section. ~ This paper describes the Catholic Church's ambiguity in its stand against Hitler and its acceptance of CO's. The role of the state in Germany and their silence toward the crimes committed are paralled to the Mai Lai massacre and the silence of US officials. Zahn is stating that nothing was learned form the German experience and that we are making the same mistakes again.
