General

Correspondence. Gordon is afraid that Wright has interpreted Gordon's letter as a suggestion to attack O'Brien openly. Gordon says that he is in the "funny position" of agreeing with the rationale behind O'Brien's position (that a modern war fought according to the rules of a just war would lead to certain defeat.) Gordon says his appeal to Wright was more in the nature of an open re-affirmation of the fact that the old rules still hold and must be obeyed.
