Correspondence. A letter to Gordon. ~ He read IN SOLITARY WITNESS, and thinks it is one of the most important books he's read in the last ten years. He has a couple of remarks re: the book: he doesn't think Gordon emphasized the "Germanness" of the Innviertel peasants. Also, he doesn't think Franz's reference to the "horrible human slaughter" refers to the extermination camps, he thinks it refers to war.
