General
Formal Paper. Discusses the situation individuals are placed in when they are forced to choose to follow either their national identity or their religious identity, such as was the case with Catholics during WWII. Gordon further asserts that instead of the Catholic Church proclaiming WWII an unjust war as their religion teaches, they supported it, thus making it even harder for individuals to protest. Discusses in depth the role the media played in complementing the Church's decision and supporting Hitler's regime mostly as a result of the surrounding social pressures, but supporting it nonetheless.
