Journal #1. Met with Dr. Mana Foubender who had been elected to a post of leadership in the FDK. Dr. Mana told Gordon of the FDK history, but gave him no new information. Also, told Gordon that at the beginning of Hitler's regime she applied for a teaching position and was told and was told she could have the job as soon as she resigned from the FDK. She refused and eventually got a job as head mistress at a private school. During the war, her peace work took on a more subtle form.
