Talked with Professor Flukenstein who told Gordon that his position is one where he believes that in a situation where a defense is needed, the army is to accepted but only as a necessary evil. Later in the conversation Gordon asked him whether any theologian, other than Stratterman and a few others, had publicly declared since the war that it had been unjust and that Catholics should have refused to serve. He said he knew of none.
