Journal #1. Did not get to see Christa Thomas because of conflicting schedules, but did get to meet with Pastor Bechers who gave some details of his life during the war. Pastor Bechers said that he was expelled from several religious assignments and parishes and eventually reached a point where he thought there would be no place to escape the Nazi orders so he gave some thought to escaping to Switzerland, but he realized that Hitler would inevitably find him and he would be executed. Suggests to Gordon that he raise his questions to the Pope.
