Journal #1. Gordon made a visit to Walter Ferber who knew little of the developments in Germany under Hitler because right after Hitler's ascencion to power, Ferber went to Austria. Gordon also visited with Charles Frochlicher who was stricken with polio only 15 months prior. Gordon speculated from what little conversation he had with Frochlicher that he is a pacifist, but also a veteran.
